Bird of Paradise
In a valley of green.
As far as the eye can see.
A vibrant bloom peaks through the surface.
Orange, vibrant, and free.
So out of place…
But it's right where it's supposed to be.
I reach out my hand,
And in return, it offers me an open stem.
It spreads its wings out in a cacophony of contrast and wonder.
We fly up…
and up...
and up...
Until we reach above the clouds.
My chest feels warm.
My shoulders become lighter.
What is this feeling?
So orange,
So vibrant,
and so
so
free.
